Where Innovation Meets Victory on the Track!
Where Innovation Meets Victory on the Track!
The primary mission of Triangle Racing is to provide an educational program focused on motorsports while aiming to win the Purdue Grand Prix. We emphasize educating every member of the team, providing hands-on experience in a motorsports environment, and developing skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and commitment. We also aim to transfer these skills to various walks of life, including motorsports, engineering, and other future endeavors.
Triangle Racing isn’t just about the driver in the seat, we operate like a miniature motorsports organization. Behind our kart is a full team working together. engineers & mechanics refining the kart’s performance, drivers training for endurance, consistency, and racecraft, and A pit crew handling strategy, maintenance, and quick adjustments. Knowledge gets passed down from one generation of members to the next, creating a culture that blends tradition with constant growth. Each new group builds on what came before, whether that’s dialing in setup, improving reliability, or pushing for better race results.
What makes Triangle Racing special is how it reflects the core of the Grand Prix itself. The race is student-run, student-built, and deeply competitive. Every team shows up knowing that success isn’t just about speed, but that it’s about preparation, teamwork, and execution over a long, demanding race.
For Triangle, competing in the Grand Prix is also about representing something bigger, the bonds, our engineering focused mindset, and our commitment to teamwork and excellence.
Race day is the culmination of months of effort, where everything from kart setup to driver focus has to come together perfectly. Today, the Purdue Grand Prix features nearly 100 teams and a professional style kart track, but the core idea hasn’t changed since 1958: students building and racing their own machines. Triangle Racing continues to be part of that tradition, contributing to the legacy of one of the most unique collegiate motorsports events in the country. Each year brings new drivers, new challenges, and new opportunities but the goal remains the same: compete, improve, and ultimately, WIN.
