The Crew
The Team
Triangle Racing is one team, made up of the roles every race team needs to get the kart to the grid and around the track.

Driver
Competes in the Purdue Grand Prix and test sessions, conducts post-session debriefs with engineers, and analyzes data and video to identify performance gains. Develops composure under pressure, precise technical communication, and data-driven decision-making.
Race Engineer
Configures chassis setup, gearing, and tire pressures between sessions, evaluates timing and telemetry, and plans changes in collaboration with the driver. Develops applied engineering expertise in vehicle dynamics and data analysis.
Crew Chief
Sets the operational schedule, leads crew briefings, and directs race-day strategy and pit stops. Develops leadership, planning, and project-management capabilities by coordinating personnel, resources, and timing under pressure.
Mechanics
Build and maintain the kart across the season, assembling the drivetrain and performing inspection and repair between sessions. Develop practical mechanical and diagnostic skills.
Public Relations
Manages social media, alumni communications, sponsor outreach, and fundraising campaigns and events. Develops marketing, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Pit Crew
Rehearses and executes pit stops on race day, managing tire changes, refueling, and rapid repairs against the clock. Develops teamwork, precision, and process execution under pressure.

Open Grid
No Experience Needed
Most of our members join with zero racing or mechanical background. Everything from kart setup to race strategy is taught hands-on by current members. You don't have to live in the house to be part of the team either — out-of-house members are always welcome to join.
